About Me

Dr. Angella is a dynamic Multi-Award-winning STS and AI ethics Expert. Having successfully defended my Ph.D. dissertation at the Univesity of Otago, New Zealand where I have been researching Sustainable AI Technofutures with a focus on the sustainability of AI Agtech in New Zealand agrifood systems.

My research interests are also in Diversity Equity and Inclusion, especially for other knowledges, indigenous perspectives, and minority groups in science and technology towards Responsible Research and Innovation(RRI). Currently, I am Science, technology and Society (STS), early career researcher, dominantly focusing on how AI may impact different communities and sectors, and how industry, governments, and organizations may adapt, innovate and strategize in a way that protects the needs and values of the wider society.

I am also a feminist, and activist committed to knowledge production and dissemination grounded on indigenous and African identity, values, and realities.

My research in Africa is informed by the quest for Africa to find its legitimate place in the face of the current and future technological revolution.

I formally have affiliations and collaborations with academic and research institutions in and out of Africa as a researcher and a thought leader. I have also led and contributed to research and policy in various projects in the social space on the continent as a consultant/expert. My connection with civil society has mainly been in capacity building and systems strengthening.

My broad technical skillset in AI Ethics, DEI, and Public Policy Research and Leadership allows me to solve social problems across various disciplines, including technology and society, sustainability, and education.
